7 Steps to Create a Vision Board that Becomes Your Reality
As you prepare to make a vision board, take a moment to reflect on the past year. Celebrate accomplishments and see how far you have come before plotting your next move. Also, look at areas for improvement (no failure, only feedback on what to do differently and how to change behavior).
Answer the following questions from a “gut” or feelings place. Trust your intuition vs. editing your thoughts; which can empower your vision and fuel your future actions to accomplish your goals.
STEP 1: REFLECT
What’s one 2016 blessing that I’m grateful for? #countyourblessingschallenge
What was my greatest accomplishment?
How and where did I spend most of my time, energy and money last year and will those same actions help me achieve my vision for 2017? (Energy grows where energy goes.)
What areas did I fall short? (Areas of opportunity for growth)
What are my fears and/or limiting beliefs?
What did I learn within the last year and/or what was my greatest shift in perspective?
STEP 2: DEFINE YOUR VISION
Where am I going and who’s in charge?

STEP 3: WHAT’S YOUR WHY?
Why do I want what I want? Am I influenced or motivated by society, self, or spirit?

STEP 4: GET REAL ABOUT YOUR PRIORITIES
What do I need to stop doing or how am I getting in my own way?
What do I need to do more of? (add the answer to your vision board)
STEP 5: BE INTENTIONAL & COMMITTED
What are the top 1 – 3 goals or priorities for my life that I will accomplish in 2017? (Romantic, financial, professional, etc. Choose one for each body system: Mental, Emotional, Physical and Spiritual).
Add dates and deadlines to each vision and include words, themes, quotes and/or affirmations to your vision board to counter negative self-talk.
STEP 6: SQUAD GOALS
Who helped you in 2016 and who do you want to be a part of your squad in 2017 or should be left behind in 2016? Choose wisely and select people who want you to win, are going where you are going, are already where you want to be and doing what you want to do.
STEP 7: GIVE TO RECEIVE
In addition to including things you want and feel you *deserve, include at least one thing on your vision board that you will do to be of service. *(Latin meaning: de + servire “to serve”).
